Platform Integration

We have performed more than 30 technology insertion programs for DoD programs of record, including engineering, manufacturing, airworthiness substantiation, flight test planning, instrumentation, data collection, and performance analysis.

Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC)

We provide GNC solutions through a combination of in-house expertise, subcontractor partnerships, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) component integration. The resulting designs are cost-effective combinations of flight computers, sensors, and actuators.

Sensor Selection

Our expertise in sensor technologies spans radar, electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), LIDAR, acoustic, and other modalities.

Data Services

Our customers do not typically want data—they want answers backed by data. We manage, integrate, calculate, and reduce large volumes of data into meaningful metrics for decision makers.

We provide mission-critical test site support for data collection and objective real-time data analysis. For example, our Telemetry and Instrumentation Ground Receiver Station (TIGRS) provides total system support at test ranges around the country, including state-of the-art telemetry receivers, test equipment, and real-time analysis tools. A viewing area allows our customers to observe live tests and test results.

Flight Operations

​Our UAS and aviation experts provide comprehensive flight services for public use and commercial aircraft. We handle the complexities of flight operations, planning, approvals, safety, and airspace regulations. We apply disciplined, documented processes to identify and mitigate the risks inherent to aviation operations.

Flight Test Operations and Support

We offer Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 flight operations, complemented by experience in obtaining FAA CoAs and Letters of Agreement. Dynetics has a cadre of UAS Operators with appropriate certifications, including a Part 107 certificate. In addition, our Aircrew Training Program uses an internal Aircrew Training Manual and test standards to ensure proper levels of proficiency.

Our formal small UAS (sUAS) flight program also operates in compliance with military aviation regulations, including DCMA Instruction 8210.1. We maintain and follow flight and ground procedures and a detailed Flight Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). These documents are reviewed and approved annually by a Government Flight Representative (GFR). Flights are approved via a multi-step process that includes reviews for safe operations and proper risk management. Using these processes, our team regularly operates both government-owned and contractor-owned aircraft, in accordance with contract requirements.

Dynetics provides technical support for Air Worthiness Releases (AWR), and has helped our successfully apply for numerous AWRs / safety releases for manned and unmanned aircraft. Dynetics' test engineers also plan and lead larger-scale flight test events, even when flight operations are performed by third parties. This enables Dynetics to deliver highly complex flight support through a mix of in-house expertise and thoughtful contracting with trusted partners.

Training and Logistics

Many of our system operators possess extensive military experience in using unmanned systems to perform tactical missions. These individuals are well suited for disciplined training in basic operations, emergency procedures, and advanced mission functions. On the logistics side, we offer life-cycle analyses, support concepts, and design for efficient integration with existing infrastructure.

Dynetics has teamed with Ascent Aerosystems to provide Co-axial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), providing significant advantages in unmanned capability over traditional airframes. These compact vehicles are easily stored and transported, enabling a wide range of missions.

As part of the DARPA MFP program, Dynetics is developing a range of technology advances to enable rapid detection, identification, tracking, and neutralization of adversary sUASs—all while mitigating collateral damage.

Dynetics serves as the system integrator, leveraging Dynetics-developed sensor technologies and novel mitigation techniques to address SUAS threats.

Counter- Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS)

​Dynetics develops counter-unmanned aircraft systems (CUAS) to address the rapidly evolving threat posed by unmanned aircraft when operated by those who are careless or malicious. Our counter-UAS solutions leverage Dynetics' expertise in sensors, counter-measures, autonomous systems, and C2 software. Anchored in physics-based simulation and analysis, our development approach starts with threat assessments and proceeds through end-to-end-system testing in realistic environments. When needed, we can also provide field support and CUAS services.

We understand that there is no universal solution to this emerging threat. As a system integrator, we advance our counter systems by finding best-in-class technologies from across industry, drawing from both large and small businesses. Where needed, we provide our own innovative components. We focus on maximizing the performance of the integrated solution, when applied within our customer's environment. By considering operator workload, we avoid the impractical implementations of otherwise useful technologies that result in either operator boredom or operator saturation. This allows us to provide practical solutions to end users.
