Chief Operations Officer

Trip Ferguson is the chief operations officer at Dynetics. He sets the strategic direction for functional support roles and serves on the senior executive leadership team for the company.

Ferguson joined Dynetics as the director of Manufacturing Operations in 2018. He led the start-up activities of the Gilbert Advanced Manufacturing Facility and the development of the Manufacturing Operations organization. Prior to joining Dynetics, he served in operational leadership roles across multidisciplinary industries with experience in medical, energy, firearms and non-profit sectors. Ferguson brings extensive background in strategy, operational excellence, mission assurance, supply chain, manufacturing and start-up activities.

Ferguson served his country in the Armed Forces and was commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer and attained the rank of Captain while completing three overseas tours. He deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, including the 2004 Battle of Fallujah, and served as the battalion landing team intelligence officer for the evacuation of American citizens from Lebanon in 2006 as a member of the 24th Marine expeditionary unit.

He serves on the board of directors for Still Serving Veterans and is a graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville's flagship program, Class 30.

Ferguson holds a bachelor's degree in economics with merit from the United States Naval Academy and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
