Systems Engineering

Providing solutions to today’s complex problems requires a disciplined approach to ensure the desired capabilities are delivered on time, within budget, and with acceptable risk. In today’s business environment, Dynetics understands budgets are limited, scrutiny is intense, competition is tough, demands are high, and only sound approaches firmly based on a Systems Engineering Process can provide optimum solutions. Our disciplined Systems Engineering Process is the foundation of our technical, management, and quality processes, including CMM, CMMI, and ISO 9001:2000.

Dynetics operates from a Systems Engineering framework to address projects and programs. Whether these projects and programs are new or established, large and complex, small and simple, research or product development, we adapt the process to the degree and depth required for program and customer needs while maintaining process integrity. On large complex programs, Dynetics integrates all necessary management and technical disciplines, specialty groups, manufacturing engineering, interoperability, and supportability into a team executing a structured development process to support the complete program life cycle:

  • Concept Development;
  • Requirements and Architecture Development;
  • Design and Production;
  • Integration, Test, Verification, and Validation; and
  • Operation and Maintenance.

The process focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle and then documenting requirements, developing the design solution, and validating the completed system.

On small, simple, established, research, and product development projects, all of which have limited discretionary budgets, Dynetics emphasizes defining and validating customer and stakeholder requirements. Often projects are conducted by integrated product and process teams who implement the detailed functions typically associated with systems engineering organizations and large programs. Dynetics’ commitment to supplying high-quality products and services makes our Systems Engineering Process a priority in the way we do business. Through our internal education program, Dynetics trains employees to apply our Systems Engineering Process to their projects.

Dynetics is committed to a consistent, persistent, and disciplined Systems Engineering approach that delivers fully integrated development and realization of products and services that meet our customer’s requirements within cost, schedule, and risk constraints.
