Fuze Design Analysis & Testing

Modern weapon systems require robust, intelligent fuzing solutions to provide the weapon system performance and reliability our soldiers need. With over 10 years of experience in developing and evaluating fuze designs, Dynetics understands the demands of multi–mode, multi–effects weapon systems and complements this understanding with the technical expertise required to design, analyze, and test fuzes and fuzing systems.

Dynetics provides fuze design support from concept exploration and arming requirements definition through development and production. We have experience with a broad range of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical fuze designs, including

  • Fuzes for Hard–Target Penetration,
  • Selectable Multi–point Firesets, and
  • Mechanical Runaway Escapements.

We understand the difficulties that must be overcome to fully integrate fuzing solutions into existing and developmental weapon systems, and we use this knowledge to create innovative solutions to the high demands placed on fuzing systems.

Dynetics’ analysis ensures the safety and reliability of fuze designs. We understand the service-specific safety requirements and the modern fuze safety requirements as specified in MIL–STD–1316 and NATO STANAG 4187. As a result, we use combine this understanding with technical analysis, using Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and arming analysis to analyze fuzing systems. We have experience with many of the leading test facilities and agencies in the nation supplying test planning; defining test data requirements, test procedures, and instrumentation requirements; and providing test oversight for multiple fuze programs. This includes the mechanical shock, vibration, climatic, safety, arming and functioning, and electric and magnetic influence tests specified in MIL–STD–331C. Furthermore, we have conducted tests at the research and development levels through fuze and system–level qualification tests.

With our commitment to providing innovation fuze design, thorough analysis, and accurate testing, Dynetics ensures safe, reliable, and innovative fuzing solutions that meet the demands of modern weapon systems.
