Quality Programs: Software Engineering Institute-Capability Maturity Model Integration® (SEI-CMMI®) Maturity Level 2

In September 2008, the software development activities of Dynetics earned a SEI-CMMI® Maturity Level 2 rating as defined by the SEI CMMI®-DEV Version 1.2 staged representation in accordance with the SEI Class A Standard CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI(SM)) version 1.2 method definition document.

The SEI-CMMI® is today’s standard for assessing a company’s software process integration and product improvement capabilities. The Department of Defense (DoD) generally requires this certification for a company in order to be awarded new software development, hardware development, services, and/or systems engineering contracts.

The "Maturity Level 2" designation is defined as a decision which represents a managed level of maturity within the framework of CMMI. The scope of the appraisal pertains to the software development projects within a designated Dynetics organizational unit that deliver a product to external customers. These processes for developing and maintaining our software development activities are managed, documented, and effectively used within the organization. We ensure managed requirements, effective project planning, monitoring and control, and cost and schedule tracking.

These organizational processes integrate software engineering and management to make managers and technical personnel more effective; they also ensure continual process improvement, ultimately resulting in delivery of software products on time and within budget.

CMMI® and Capability Maturity Model and Carnegie Mellon are registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by Carnegie Mellon University; SCAMPI(SM) and SEI are service marks of Carnegie Mellon University.
