Dynetics Hires Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Bill Hughes as Colorado Springs Operations Director

Dynetics announced today that retired Col. Bill Hughes has joined the company as the new director of its Colorado Springs operations. In addition to serving in this role, Hughes will lead Dynetics’ efforts relating to Department of Defense cyber and space markets in the western region. He will be responsible for business development with all Department of Defense customers, with a focus on the Air Force Space Command, Global Strike Command, Strategic Command, the Space and Missiles Systems Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
Hughes will focus on microsatellites, responsive launch, propulsion systems and space situational awareness and protection. His cyber concentration will be on modeling and simulation and Dynetics AssuredCompliance™, the Information Assurance software suite that saves customers as much as 70% of the cost of other certification and accreditation processes.
Hughes most recently served as the chief of the Deterrence and Strike Division at Peterson Air Force Base and also served in several other roles at Peterson and other Air Force bases. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, and a master’s in administration from Central Michigan University. His military education includes training from the Squadron Office School, the Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base.
Hughes has received a number of awards, including the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
