Quality Programs: AS 9100
Dynetics is committed to continually enhancing all products and services and to sustaining itself as a quality leader in the commercial, defense, aircraft, and aerospace sectors. In order to accomplish these goals the Propulsion Department of Dynetics has developed and implemented an AS 9100 Quality Management System.
AS 9100 has been published by The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) with input from the American Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG) and support from the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC). The AS 9100 standard is based on the internationally renowned ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standards, but adds additional aerospace-sector specific requirements. Registration to the standard is encouraged and oftentimes contractually required for suppliers to NASA, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), Rolls Royce, and most other prime aerospace manufacturers.
The Propulsion Department of Dynetics has been third-party certified to AS 9100 since November 2009. The scope of certification encompasses the design, manufacture, production, testing, and service of propulsion systems, test stands, and ground support equipment. Since their inception, these certified processes have been used to provide quality aerospace products to a multitude of customers in the aerospace industry and have led to customer loyalty and continued process improvement.
This AS 9100 QMS system is used to document the company's best business practices, better satisfy the requirements and expectations of its customers and improve the overall management of the company. The system and its effectiveness is maintained and continually improved through the use of the quality policy, quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive action, and management review.
