Our History
When Mr. Herschel Matheny and Dr. Steve Gilbert
founded Dynetics in 1974, they
commited to excellence in ethics, relationships, products, and
services – to build
a company that exemplified quality and integrity. In 1989, Dr.
Marc Bendickson
and Mr. Tom Baumbach led the Dynetics purchase from its founders
through an
Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The commitment
of the founders continues as the
foundation for the establishment of Dynetics as an industry leader.
Throughout its more than 30-year history, Dynetics
has been a leader in ballistic
missile defense and earned a reputation as a source of expert
radar system analysis
and engineering support for the U.S. Army and Aviation Missile
Command
(AMCOM) and the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC).
Through these experiences,
we garnered extensive expertise in intelligence data analysis
for tactical
weapon systems and ballistic missile defense, system analysis
and engineering,
radar design and performance evaluation, and signal processing.
In the early 1980s, Dynetics advanced our reputation
for excellence to state-of-the-art Radio Frequency (RF) missile seeker systems performance
evaluation,
hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and flight test support, and modeling
and simulation (M&S).
Dynetics’ technological capabilities continued to expand
to include: electro-optic
(EO) and infrared (IR) sensors; missile systems analysis and
design; modeling
and simulation (M&S); software development; foreign materiel
exploitation (FME) of radars,
seekers, and missiles; and development of prototype electronic,
mechanical and
optical hardware. Today we often serve as a prime contractor
for the Air Force on
specialized aerodynamic systems.
Dynetics experienced continued growth in the 1990s as we won
several large
contracts, added our Machining and Design Center, and built a
new 45,000
square foot building. In the early 1990s, we won our first commercial
production
contract from Chrysler; subsequently, we have built and supported electrical test systems for more than 60 Chrysler, Ford, and GM locations around the world. We have
further expanded into prototype development for automotive Tier
1 suppliers. |
